Jerry Hesch, MHS, PT, is the developer and instructor of the Hesch Method. He is a licensed physical therapist with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physical Therapy and a Master's of Health Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis. He is a life-long member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and a member of NV Chapter APTA, the APTA Orthopedic and Sports Section, Women’s Health Section, Neurology and Educations Sections and special interest group member in Pain Management.
He frequently provides online advice at site such as IOWHPT (Pelvic Pain and Obstetric Back Pain). He is also a member of AAOMPT. Jerry has more than 25 years of experience in the field ofphysical therapy. The Hesch Method is a unique, practical, research-based method for evaluating and treating pelvic and spinal joint dysfunction. In addition to addressing traditional patterns of dysfunction, he has developed treatment for 12 patterns that he has discovered. Taught only by Mr. Hesch and his faculty, The Hesch Method challenges traditional approaches and changes the paradigm of evaluation and treatment of lumbo-pelvic movement dysfunction. Currently practicing part-time, he only accepts referrals when local resources have been exhausted.

Jerry Hesch is the author of the 200 page Hesch Method workbook, an advanced evaluation and treatment video, several articles, and letters to the editor of various journals. His work has been published in *Physical Therapy Today* and Journal of Ob Gyn PT. He authored the chapter titled The Most Common Patterns of Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction in Movement, Stability and Low back Pain: The Essential Role of the Pelvis (Churchill Livingstone 1997).He has presented at several state, national, and international conferences, including the 1992 and 1995 Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back Pain and Its Relation to the Sacroiliac Joint. In addition, he was the keynote speaker at the 1994 Canadian Athletic Therapist Annual Convention. He has presented more than 80 workshops.

*This was the name of the PT Private Practice Section’s magazine when the article was published. To date (19 years later) it is the only article on this clinical topic in the US PT literature; Manual Therapy to the Sternum.

Chris Gregor-Maxwell, MS, PT, AT, presents and promotes the seminars, and contributes to the ongoing development of this body of work. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy in 1987 from Northern Illinois University, then her Master's of Science in Athletic Training from Illinois State University in 1992. She is an Indiana-state licensed physical therapist, certified
athletic trainer, and certified strength and conditioning specialist. She has worked with many high-school, collegiate, Olympic, and professional athletes throughout her career. Professional organization memberships include the APTA, NATA, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Besides athletes, Chris has worked with patients suffering from chronic pain, headaches, pelvic pain, incontinence, spinal pain, arthritic diseases, workrelated injuries, and geriatric and pediatric conditions. She has developed employee education programs for injury prevention, as well as staff education programs for both physical therapy and athletic training facilities. Chris holds the distinction of being the first female trainer for a Champion Central Hockey League Team, the 1999-2000 Indianapolis Ice.

She first began using the Hesch Method of Treating the Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction fourteen years ago and has used it extensively in the outpatient physical therapy and athletic settings. She has performed as a laboratory instructor multiple times and now has been the lead instructor over a dozen times in the last few years. The Hesch Method was the topic of her presentations at the Indiana Physical Therapy Association State Convention in 2004 and at the National Athletic Trainers’ Association National Convention in 2005. The PowerPoint presentations used in the seminar were designed by Chris, and she has made multiple contributions to the course content as well.

Originally from Chicago, Chris now lives in Indianapolis with her husband, Bob and her two children.
