Research on the Hesch Method

RESEARCH ON THE HESCH METHOD PRESENTED AT THE PHYSICAL THERAPY WORLD CONGRESS, JUNE 7-12, 2003

A paper titled, Establishing the Reliability of the Hesch Method's Spring and Positional Tests in Patients With Low Back Pain, by Luanne Olson, PT, MS, and Theresa Kraemer, PT, PhD, ATC, was presented by Dr. Kraemer at the Physical Therapy World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on June, 7-12, 2003.

The research revealed that 7 out of 10 spring tests and 12 of 15 positional tests demonstrated greater than 70% intratester agreement. This is remarkable, because many studies over the years have shown poor intratester reliability with the tradition method of evaluation.
